Your messages every week make me forget the world while I read them. Of course your information is solid and I've been following you all about 8 years now and love love love your books. Bless you for your drive to learn, share, inform and educate about fermenting. It has drastically improved my life and that of my family. We've re-bonded over ferments. I'm seriously considering becoming a substack member, because the respite you provide. AND your insights share beauty, reignite dreams and hope. Your line about spending time with the blossoms... I'm inspired to go to our local garden park and just breathe. Thank you for your posts.
I just read your post about the food of place. It’s very sad how waterways are drying up. In Australia we have learnt a lot from Peter Andrews and the concept of leaky weirs. Beavers would build them a lot better than a human could!
Better and cheaper. 😅They work for free. Unfortunately for the Southern Hemisphere there have never been beavers to do that work. Leaky weirs is 100 percent the same idea though! Good stuff.
Look up “The Waterman of India” the wonderful power of many many small human made ponds.
Here in Guadalajara, the Jacarandas are in their purple glory. The African Tulip trees, with flowers that look like giant orange azaleas, are finishing up blooming and we have a bunch of Hibiscus Tilaceus blooming too.
We visited Japan last year just in time for the Sakura blossoms and to enjoy a hanami picnic near a river in the Kansai region. Your excellent pictures and description of your trip make me miss this beautiful season. Thanks!🌸
Sounds like you had a lovely time as well. I glad you could be there with me through your own experiences. Next time I hear about the season there, I will miss it as well.
