Wow, what a beautiful thing to have those animals in your backyard. Amazing. I hope Mama recovers, she's in good hands with you guys. Good to see the baby looking healthy. Those baby turtles are so tiny, did you ever see one of the egg nests or do they bury their eggs? Very very cool.

I am guessing these littles hatched around 6 months ago. If they make it they can live up to 70 years. They do bury their eggs. Here is a little information for you. https://www.dnr.wa.gov/publications/em_fs13_012.pdf

Oh wow they are so tiny. We twice found a tortoise here (the dogs go mad wondering what they are but luckily just bark and don't harm them) but it's been a while. I built a small pond over the summer and will keep topping it up (it leaks so maybe we will get a kalabaw next year to help seal it) so hoping for some magic to happen in that area. No beavers here though :-(

Thank you Kirsten. I really enjoyed reading this and having what feels like a window into another world. I hope Beverley gets through that breakage, and baby keeps thriving too. Jeannette

Elderberry is so big and healthy, what a mama Beverly is.

I’m inspired that you got up to see the Solstice sunrise. I enjoyed the newsletter.

Thanks, I am happy you enjoyed. Yes, and Elderberry is quite a little chub. Beavers have 4 teets and Elderberry has no siblings so....that's lots of milk just for them. 🙊
