In all seriousness, I have read that this time of year, birds are more likely to hit your windows due to drinking and flying. Some say decals on your windows help, keeping your blinds down to minimize reflection is also helpful. Things to think about if you have trees or bushes with fruit that is fermenting due to warm days and cold nights.
Zwetschgendatschi (Bavarian plum sheet cake)
There are two variations of this cake, one is with a Hefeteig, a yeasted dough, or a Mürbeteig, which is a shortcrust dough. A Mürbeteig is a pastry base for many German cakes, tarts, and cookies.
Some people wax poetic over a Zwetschgendatschi mit Hefeteig but I have always preferred the buttery Mürbeteig perhaps this is because it is what my grandmother made but I won’t deny it could be the butter.
